Downunder Diversions LLC is about two girls from Australia and New Zealand. These girls from "Downunder" have a vision and passion to help you take a break from life through "Diversions". They organize road trips and exhibitions where you can learn, grow, and expand your creativity.

The event focus is on quilting and sewing of all kinds and includes exhibits, demonstrations, machine and hand quilting, embroidery, piecing, applique, art, design, and business. Vendor booths feature supplies, notions, machines and finished gift items. Classes are for all skill levels of quilters and sewists from beginning to advanced.

They work with the best teachers in the industry who share the latest and greatest techniques and products in the world of quilting and sewing. They consider every person they meet to be a treasured friend and welcome anyone who "wants to take a break from life."
This trip included my loves of home decor, good food, fabric, quilting and more fabric!  It was such a treat to visit Magnolia Market, the Pioneer Woman Mercantile, new-to-me quilt shops (Cabbage Rose and Oklahoma Quiltworks) and Missouri Star Quilt Company!  Everyone in the group we traveled with was so kind and friendly and the bus and hotel/retreat accommodations were nice and comfortable!  Jina and Moana were great hostesses ~ entertaining and friendly!  They made me feel comfortable being in a big group and made great efforts for all of us to get to know each other!  The bus rides were comfortable and a great time to get to know each other, rest, watch movies, do "hand work" and laugh!  I loved being able to travel to new places where we could enjoy the beautiful countryside along the way.  The itinerary kept us moving at just the right speed.  Missouri Star was the perfect ending to the week.  We shopped our little hearts out and sewed until the wee hours of the morning.  The food and sleeping accommodations were wonderful.  I never had to wait in line for a bathroom and the beds were comfortable.  A fabulous trunk show was provided by Jenny Doan and ended with her stopping by the retreat center for a short Q & A and photo/book signing.  Two pieces of advice - be sure to stop by the bakery next door for a cinnamon roll if you go to MSQC and leave yourself room in your suitcase to bring home some souvenirs!  PS. Missouri Star shipped home all of the fabric I bought there for free - so that was really helpful!  ...Amber Johnson
